> TNCEP (Tennessee Nutrition and Consumer Education Program)

TNCEP is a nutrition education program for Wilson County families who receive Food Stamps or who are eligible for Food Stamps. The goal of TNCEP is to teach families how to choose and prepare nutritionally adequate diets and help them feel empowered to move toward self-sufficiency. Families are taught how to use Food Stamps and related resources effectively.

Education is delivered by the Wilson County FCS Extension Agent, TNCEP Program Assistant, Extension Staff, and TNCEP Coalition (partners in the community who work with the Food Stamp audience). The characteristic of TNCEP that makes it different from other nutrition education programs is that it is coalition-driven. A community coalition of individuals from various agencies determine what types of education are delivered. Funding for TNCEP is provided by the USDA and the Tennessee Department of Human Services.

> Family and Community Education Clubs (FCE)
Contact: Shelly N. Phillips
For more than 90 years, a network of friends in communities across Wilson County have shared these common goals:

* to learn through shared experience,
* to improve home and community life,
* to strengthen adult education,
* to promote projects that enhance family and community life.

Through our rich history, we have grown from small community clubs to a county-wide network focused on growth through education. You may recognize us by some of our earlier names: Home Demonstration Clubs and Extension Homemakers...WE ARE WILSON COUNTY FCE
