The 4-H Babysitting is open to any youth in 5th to 12th grade. Babysitting ROCKS is a workshop for 4-H members who are interested in becoming a competent and responsible babysitter. This workshop will be helpful to anyone whether new to the field or an “old pro” at babysitting. Through activities, games and discussion, the participant will receive the training needed to become a confident and successful babysitter.
Participants will learn:
- The necessary information to become a capable, caring, trustworthy and responsible babysitter
- The roles and responsibilities of babysitters and parents of young children
- How to care for and keep infants and young children safe and happy
- How to solve problems related to minor accidents, emergencies, and behavior
- To understand the physical, social, mental, and emotional characteristics of young children
- How to communicate with young children during playtime using toys and games
- How to save and invest the money earned
- How to develop a positive attitude about the care of children
