4-H Camps

3-Day Summer Day Camp – June 18-20, 2024

Back by popular demand, we have a 3-day summer day camp planned where you will be able to have a blast during the day and go home and sleep in your own bed at night. Our 3-day summer day camp is for youth that have completed 4th to 8th grades. The cost for this camp is $100. This camp will be held at the James E. Ward Ag Center in Lebanon. Fun activities like archery, campfire, crafts, dancing, farm animals, water games, gardening, ghost stories and much much more are planned. REGISTRATION DAY April 30, 2024 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Extension Office. DEADLINE: May 17, 2024

Junior 4-H Camp – June 24-28, 2024

Junior 4-H Camp is for youth who have completed grades 4-6.  The cost for this camp is $380. This five-day resident camp is available at all 4-H Centers and offers excellent youth programming. The Clyde M. York 4-H Center will host Wilson County the last week of June. Activities include swimming, shooting sports, mini golf, group sports, fishing, tubing, nature hikes, leather craft and woodworking, T-shirt airbrushing, skits, music and more.  Quota 100 Campers. Registration is now open and space is available. Register at the Extension Office anytime, Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (except for holiday’s). DEADLINE: May 31, 2024

**Jr. High Adventure Camp –  May 27-May 31, 2024

4-H Jr High Adventure High Camp is for older youth who have completed grades 6-8.  This camp is held at the Clyde M. York 4-H Center in Crossville.  Cost: $375. Participants may choose from one of multiple activities.  There will also be swimming, zipline, paddleboard, kayak, gaga, rifle, arts and crafts, and archery. Registration is now open and space is available. Register at the Extension Office anytime, Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (except for holiday’s). REGISTRATION DEADLINE:  May 1, 2024

**Pioneer Camp – July 2-5, 2024

The Central Region Pioneer Camp is for youth who are enrolled in the grades 7-9 the current calendar school year. Campers will have 4 days, 3 nights and will stay in a very rustic setting where they participate in Pioneer themed activities, go on an offsite field trip, enjoy free time fishing or swimming in the Collins River, and experience a giant water slide. This camp will be held at Camp Woodlee in Warren County. The cost for this camp will be $185. Registration is limited to 20 males and 20 females and will be filled as first come first serve. ** Target SMART Camp – May 27-31, 2024

4-H Target Smart Camp is a program of TN 4-H Shooting Sports.  It is for youth who are enrolled in grades 5-9 the current calendar school year.  This resident camp is located at the Clyde M York 4-H Center in Crossville, TN.  Participants do not need shooting experience prior to attending camp.  Campers will participate in activities that will develop firearm safety, responsibilities, and life skills.  They will experience and participate in skill competition in specific disciplines such as archery, rifle, shotgun, and hunting & outdoor skills.  Cost: $360 Visit the 4-H Shooting Sports Website for more information.   See brochure for more information.   Adult Leader Application for Target SMART Camp.     REGISTRATION DEADLINE:  May 10, 2024 (filled as first come first serve)

Electric Camp – June 25-28, 2024

Electric Camp is a fun-filled, rewarding adventure in electricity held at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.  The camp features learning centers staffed by electric utility professionals.  Each learning center will use hands-on activities that allow the 4-H members to learn by doing.  Electric camp is for boys and girls enrolled in 4-H who are in grades 6-8 as of January 1 of the current calendar year. Members do not have to be enrolled in the electric project to attend the camp, but they should have an interest in this area.  Cost:  $325  See brochure for more information.  Teen and Adult Leader Application for Electric Camp.  REGISTRATION DEADLINE:  June 1, 2024

Jr High Academic Conference –  June 10-14, 2024

Junior High Academic Conference is an educational program on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.  As a delegate at this conference, you will be involved in educational programming on the campus of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville (UTK). Delegates will receive extensive, hands-on training in project areas, under the supervision of university scientists and specialists on the UTK campus. The conference will provide a variety of rewarding and fun-filled experiences including inside the classroom, outdoors, and laboratory settings.   REGISTRATION DEADLINE: TBD

** FCS Behind the Scenes – June 25-28, 2024

How would you like to spend 4 days meeting new friends, and just having fun?  The cost for this camp is $450.  Each year a new activity and location will be announced. This year, FCS Behind the Scenes will travel to New Orleans, Louisiana   to explore culinary and interior design.  We will visit the New Orleans Culinary and Hospitality Institute, St. Louis Cathedral, the French Market, Mardi Gras Float Tour, and more! This event costs $450, and this will include the cost of 4 meals, activities, lodging and transportation. Due to space restrictions, registration is limited.  Participants will be accepted on a first come basis.  This camp is open to all youth in grades 9-12.  See brochure for more information. ** Culinary Camp – July 9-11, 2024

Are you in the 6-8th grade and enjoy cooking?  Then this is the camp for YOU!  Tennessee Tech University will host this overnight event again this year. The theme will be “The Chopping Block”. SPACE IS LIMITED!  ONLY 2 CAMPERS PER COUNTY WILL BE SELECTED.  COST:  $150 REGISTRATION DEADLINE: June 21, 2024 or when camp is full.
